Athletics are a fun way for students to learn sportsmanship and get exercise. Girls and boys in fourth and fifth grades can participate in volleyball, basketball and track at Lake Shore.

The Lake Shore choir, led by music teacher Stephanie Kennedy, performs at school functions and community events. For students in third through fifth grades, the choir practices once per week after school from October to March. For more information, please email or call 360-313-2250.

Safety patrol

Lake Shore fifth-graders have an opportunity to show their responsibility and leadership as a member of the school safety patrol. Working with adults, the safety patrol helps students and parents safely cross nearby streets before and after school.

Student leadership team

Lake Shore third- through fifth-graders can apply for the student leadership team. The team of motivated girls and boys is responsible for daily school announcements and school spirit activities. The team, which meets daily at lunch, rotates three times each year to give more students an opportunity to serve their school community.

Green team

Lake Shore’s green team is made up of fifth-grade students who come together to investigate environmental issues at school, create a specific goal or action plan and make meaningful, lasting changes on the Lake Shore campus. Projects in the past have been focused on water conservation and storm drain protection.
